Japanese cuisine (washoku) is the traditional culinary system of Japan, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. Built on principles of seasonality, balance, and presentation, Japanese cooking features staples such as rice, seafood, soy sauce, miso, and dashi, with iconic dishes including sushi, ramen, tempura, and agedashi tofu.
